Meet Our Founder

Carlos Cedeño, Founder & CEO

Carlos Cedeno, the visionary behind Scholars Network, has carved a notable career in youth development. With over twenty-five years of experience, Cedeno founded Scholars Network to champion educational opportunities that nurture growth and develop essential skills for success in underprivileged youth. His experience includes working with renowned non-profits and schools such as A Better Chance, INROADS, Wheaton College, and The Lawrence Family Development Charter School. His efforts have significantly contributed to bridging the achievement gap for underrepresented students, successfully securing their places in prestigious boarding schools and universities, and guiding them to career-defining internships at Fortune 100 Companies.

His unwavering commitment is also evident from his service on the boards of organizations like EVkids, linking underserved students from the Greater Boston area with university tutors to bolster their academic readiness for college. Cedeno’s own story is a compelling endorsement of such programs’ impact; as an alumnus of A Better Chance, Inc., he broke new ground in his family, graduating from high school and Tufts University.

In 1992, Cedeno co-founded the Adelante Youth Center in Lawrence, MA, to inspire Latino youth to pursue their education. His tenure on the board of the Lawrence Family Development Charter School further showcased his dedication, eventually leading him to counsel students directly as the school’s Placement Counselor.

Through Scholars Network, he is realizing his vision of helping young people from underserved communities to achieve academic and social excellence, empowering them to become leaders who will shape the future.
